Robert Baird
Robert B. Baird hooked up with Steven Tesich in Conifer, Co. writing screenplays high up in the Rocky Mountains. Steven later won the Oscar for best screenplay for "Breaking Away". I raised one million dollars during this time period for a local company to shoot a film in Tennessee, "E.S.P.". I then hooked up with Director David E, Durston and Producer John Peverall. I took all their advise and moved to L.A. working as Peverall's assistant. I developed a great skill for writing, film budgets, negotiating contracts and raising money. John won the Oscar as Best Producer for "The Deer Hunter". I was promoted to a Vice President of Production with Seven Summits Pictures. During this time period, a completion bond company hired John Peverall to "Gain Control on movie production far exceeding the budget with runaway over budget spending". These Great films included "The Falcon and the Snowman" and the "Emerald Forest". (pros and cons here for me.) Then came in the offer for the HBO mini-series "The Far Pavilions". where I helped negotiated John as the executive producer. (1984).
I helped raise a two million dollars for pre-production for the movie "Yellow Cake". in which John was set to Produce, Robert resigned from Seven Summits Pictures in hopes of creating my own name. He served as a Producers Representative for the the movie "Last Resort". and today he continue to write screenplays.
